What’s New
Marvel Rivals Match Process Updates
Adjustments have been made to the Marvel Rivals Match Instructions and Marvel Rivals Rulebook after a game update made on 4/10/2025.
Spring ‘25 Season Finals Dates
Dates and times for all finals matches can be viewed in our Spring 2025 Finals Schedule article. A full schedule of matches can be viewed on your Competitions page. Please note that live finals event matches, or virtual matches with broadcast support, cannot be rescheduled.
Compete in Pokémon UNITE until May 16th
High school and middle school teams will be able to enroll in our new Pokemon UNITE recreational leagues throughout the remainder of the Spring ‘25 season. A full schedule of matches can be viewed on your Competitions page.
Reminders
Playoffs Match Reschedules
Playoffs matches can be rescheduled up until end-of-day the following match day as long as the next round of your team’s Playoffs bracket does not take place that day. Playoffs reschedules can be processed through PlayVS Support once a new time has been decided between both teams in a match.
Match Day Point of Contact
Coaches or team captains may serve as a team’s Match Day Point of Contact. When team captains are used, coaches are still expected to be available in Lobby Chat in case of a match dispute or behavior report. As team captains cannot reschedule matches, Coaches are required if a reschedule is needed. After each match, captains or coaches must respond to push the Match Assistant forward, so results can be provided in a timely manner.

What’s New
Welcome to the first week of Spring ‘25 Playoffs!
The Spring ‘25 Playoff bracket sizes & schedules can be found on each league’s Competitions page. Playoff start dates can also be viewed in our Playoff Start Dates Spring ‘25 article.
Playoffs Match Reschedules
Playoffs matches can be rescheduled up until end-of-day the following match day as long as the next round of your team’s Playoffs bracket does not take place that day. Playoffs reschedules can be processed through PlayVS Support once a new time has been decided between both teams in a match.

What’s New
Wrapping up the Spring ‘25 Regular Season
All competitive league matches will need to be completed with results submitted by end of day Thursday, 4/3/25, to ensure Playoff brackets are generated properly. Please coordinate with opposing team coaches as soon as possible if any reschedules are needed for Week 8.
Roster Lock Date for Playoffs
The roster lock date for the Spring 2025 season is 3/31/2025 for the majority of PlayVS leagues. Please reference your Competitions page when logged in for the specific roster lock date for your team.
Playoff Bracket Sizes & Schedules
The Spring ‘25 Playoff Bracket Sizes & Schedules can currently be found on each league’s Competitions page. Updated support articles will be made available in the coming weeks.

Last Chance to enroll in our College Football 25 Event
Details outlining the College Football 25 PlayVS Scholastic Event is available. Enrollment closes tomorrow, 4/1/25.
Playoff Clinch Badges
Teams that reach the minimum number of wins needed to advance to playoffs before the final week of matches are scheduled will receive a badge. If, for any reason, a team could not make playoffs, that team will not receive the clinch badge on their Standings page.
Once the first Playoff round is scheduled, all advancing teams will receive a Clinch badge.

Chess and ChessKid Rulebook updates
To better clarify a round vs game vs match, we have added 3.2.5 Determining the Match Winner in both Chess and ChessKid Rulebooks. Additionally, added clarification to individual rounds outlining them as 1v1 rounds.
Injury-free roster use in NBA 2K25
Injury-free rosters can be used for matches in person (locally). It is currently not available for use in online lobbies at this time.

Overwatch 2 Perks
With the introduction of Perks, we have added 1.6.4 Perks to the Overwatch 2 Rulebook. As perks are an integral part of the game, and by default enabled for competitive play, Perks will also be enabled in your PlayVS Matches.
Marvel Rivals New Content
As a part of the mid-season update, new heroes & maps have been added to Marvel Rivals. As per 3.3.2, both heroes and the new Convergence map can be used in PlayVS Matches.

Do your players want cool swag and gift cards for their ideas and feedback? We are currently recruiting for the 2025 Player Insider Panel. This panel consists of PlayVS high school esports players (must be graduating in 2026 or later) selected to participate in UX research for a 2-season period (Spring 2025-Fall 2025). This is a great opportunity for players, captains, team managers, or any student involved in their esport program to shape the future of scholastic esports!
