This Spring, PlayVS and Nintendo welcome Mario Kart to their game lineup

Get ready to hit the road and race your friends this Spring season with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!

Dec 06, 2021

PlayVS is proud to be the official scholastic partner of Nintendo with the addition of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Splatoon 2 games for our high school leagues this past fall, and now Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this spring!

As the premier provider for students in the ever-growing world of competitive gaming, PlayVS is excited to offer a brand new genre of gaming to our platform - racing.

High school enrollment for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is now open, so schools can start building out their teams to compete in the Spring season today.

The PlayVS Spring Season will kick-off with pre-season January 31, 2021 and run through the end of April. Schools interested in starting an esports program just need to visit to sign up.

How PlayVS Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Leagues Will Work

  • Teams consist of four (4) starting players, with up to four substitute players
  • Matches will be played on Thursdays, starting at 4pm local time
  • Teams may compete with two (2) Switches, but it is recommended that each player have their own Switch Console
